Elegant and exquisite…

Qipaos, an iconic Chinese fashion staple, are custom-made to establish a character’s persona, social status and personality, and impress upon the audience the mood of a film.  A simple change of the costume can also signify a character’s change of emotion or state of mind.

31 Qipaos handpicked from Hong Kong’s classic films have been showcased in the ‘Cinderella and Her Qipao’ exhibition at Hong Kong Film Archive from now till May 5th.

Reminding us of the charms of prominent female icons in the film industry,  Qipaos worn by the actresses of three classical Hong Kong films in 1950-60s will be featured in the exhibition.
