The festival was a celebration of the end of a plague in Cheung Chau traditionally, and now it has evolved into a significant cultural event, showcasing Hong Kong's rich heritage. Climbing training will be provided for participants of the Bun Scrambling Competition, and an invitation relay will be organized for local groups in Cheung Chau to compete against climbing athletes from neighboring areas. The other highlight of the Cheung Chau Bun Festival is the 'Piu Sik' Parade, also known as the 'Floating Colors' Parade, scheduled to take place on May 15th this year.
