This graduation season, a Zhejiang university redefined tradition by taking its graduate design exhibition off-campus—creating a dynamic bridge between academic innovation and market potential. The Creative Design College presented over 200 student projects directly to buyers and manufacturers, turning creative concepts into commercial opportunities with tangible results.
A standout success emerged from corporate collaboration: a smart self-cleaning pet water dispenser with precision temperature control. Developed under an award-winning instructor’s guidance, the product has already advanced to small-scale production and e-commerce availability—showcasing the power of academia-industry partnerships.
The exhibition also spotlighted last year’s industrial design winner: a modular portable air conditioner that doubles as a phone-charging power bank. Among 30+ other compelling designs—including an AI emergency robot, a temperature-regulating smart mug, and a transformable wheeled tea table—multiple projects attracted corporate attention, poised to deliver innovative solutions to consumers.
By moving beyond campus walls, the university didn’t just expose students to real-world feedback—it proved how academic ingenuity can drive market-ready innovation.
