The 8th day of the 4th lunar month sparked celebrations across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as cities lit up with age-old traditions and shared cultural pride.  

In Zhongshan’s Shaxi Town, firecrackers popped and drums thundered at dawn while 56 parade teams stormed the streets. Giant dragons twisted through the air, lion dancers flipped with fiery energy, and beaming children carried forward the legacy—drawing roars of applause from the thrilled crowd.  

Macao’s Coloane Island matched the energy, dazzling with 30 performance troupes, including an ethereal mainland crane dance. Over 4,000 revelers joined the spectacle, which crescendoed with the region’s largest Poon Choi feast—3,000 blessing packs showering luck and laughter on the festive sea of attendees.  

More than just festivities, these vibrant gatherings weave tighter cultural bonds, ensuring traditions dance on for generations.
