Built in the 1950s, the site first produced eyewear before pivoting to optical instruments, sewing machines, and more. By the 1990s, it had become a manufacturing titan, generating over 100 million RMB annually and fueling the local economy.

Two years ago, it underwent a stunning revival, blending Jiangnan aesthetics—whitewashed walls, arched bridges—with contemporary design.
