Guangdong Science Center has been drawing crowds with a fresh lineup of hands-on attractions, including AI robot meet-and-greets, a starry sky show and science film screenings. Upgraded visitor services make the visit both fun and informative.
The centerpiece is Sky Ocean, an immersive aerial theatre where giant marine figures such as a whale shark, orca and humpback float above the plaza. Built with precision flying-model technology and paired with laser effects and 360-degree sound, the spectacle turns the square into a drifting ocean stage that elicits cheers.
Titled Whale Song: The Call of the Blue Planet, the show unfolds in four chapters: marveling at life’s power, confronting survival crises, witnessing life cycles and ending with a poetic emotional note.
A center spokesperson says the goal is simple: let people feel the ocean’s mystery up close and spark a stronger sense of stewardship for biodiversity.
