Diplomatic representatives from eight countries, including Guyana, Bulgaria, and El Salvador, gathered in Foshan, southern China, for an in-depth field tour to learn about the city’s progress in rural revitalization, its millennia-old ceramic heritage, and distinctive folk traditions.

In Zinan Village, the diplomats strolled along village paths, enjoyed peaceful pastoral scenery, and chatted with local residents. The group also watched dragon boat training sessions and experienced the unique charm of water-town life. Later, they visited the Nanfeng Ancient Kiln to explore the long history of ceramic art, gaining a close look at how this intangible cultural heritage is preserved and innovated.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Foshan Ancestral Temple. They enjoyed Cantonese opera performances on the ancient stage, as well as exciting lion dance and martial arts shows. Following each movement attentively, they experienced the perfect balance of strength and softness embodied in traditional martial arts.

This visit helped foreign diplomats gain a deeper understanding of the charm of Lingnan culture and also served as a valuable platform for promoting communication and mutual understanding between China and other countries.
