[Global Connect] Serbia Launches Europe’s First Chinese-Backed Humanoid Robot Factory
: :

Serbia has begun production at its first robot factory, jointly developed with China, marking a new step in the country’s ambitions to establish itself as a hub for advanced robotics in Europe.

Located in the western city of Sabac, the factory officially started operations on Saturday, 29 August, with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic attending the launch. The facility, which received an initial investment of 20 million euros, covers about 3,000 square metres and focuses on assembling humanoid robots and robotic dogs, as well as testing their movement and vision systems.

Several humanoid robot models are already being produced, initially for industrial applications before expanding into areas such as education and public services.

Serbia also plans to develop a robot industrial park with total investment of about 200 million euros. Once completed, the project is expected to produce up to 20,000 humanoid robots and robotic dogs annually for European and global markets, while supporting the growth of local talent and employment.
