Hangzhou, China’s e-commerce capital, has turbocharged its global trade network with a brand-new dedicated cargo route to Tokyo—marking Hangzhou Airport’s first all-freight launch this year and creating a high-speed bridge between two Asian economic powerhouses.
The maiden flight blasted off with nearly 10 tons of mail, e-commerce parcels, and express shipments, conquering the 3-hour journey to deliver same-day cross-border efficiency. Operating three weekly flights with 48-ton weekly capacity, this sky highway promises to revolutionize regional logistics.
Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport rolled out the red carpet for exporters: Customs deployed dedicated clearance lanes for lightning-fast documentation, while the airport supercharged its logistics with optimized handling and expanded shipping options.
The numbers speak volumes—Hangzhou Airport’s cargo volume hit 72,800 tons in Q1 2025, up 2.91% year-on-year. With this new route and upgraded services, the airport is shifting into high gear as East Asia’s next premier logistics hub.
