In golden early autumn, around 70,000 pots of chrysanthemums—spanning more than 100 varieties—have come into bloom at Laodong Park in Xiangfang District, Harbin, dressing the industrial-style grounds in waves of floral color. The scene blends the park’s factory-chic vibe with the gentle charm of traditional chrysanthemums.
This is the 22nd Xiangfang Chrysanthemum Exhibition, and it stands as the largest, most varied, and best-known chrysanthemum event in Northeast China—a pioneer in staging large shows in cold-climate regions.
The exhibition design weaves the park’s terrain and industrial elements into the displays. Centered around a low-pressure rotor, a cascading chrysanthemum waterfall forms the main view, while themed photo walls, social-media-ready frames, and dramatic flower bundles invite visitors to join in. A food street and specialty market run alongside, creating a one-stop outing where people can admire the blooms and sample local treats.
