Nantong’s pink muhly grass is in peak season, transforming riverside slopes into clouds of rosy plumes. Fields of soft pink seed heads sway in the breeze, their drifting petals creating a dreamlike scene that makes visitors feel as if they’ve stepped into a fairytale.

Bathed in sunlight, the rolling beds and varied terrain create sweeping floral vistas along the Yangtze River shoreline. The blush-colored sea has become a popular spot for sightseeing and photography, with crowds pausing to admire the view.

This floral zone is a key feature of Nantong Langshan National Forest Park’s ecological restoration efforts. Following the relocation of ports and terminals, and years of dedicated work, the former industrial strip has been reborn as an ecological scenic belt.

Today, it’s not only a pleasant weekend escape for locals, but also a vibrant symbol of the city’s transformation from rust belt to riverside beauty.
