[China Travelogue] Chinese Culture Shines at Athens Festival
: :

The International Culture Festival of Five Continents was recently held in Greece, where the China Cultural Center in Athens launched a series of themed events, offering the Greek public a multidimensional taste of Chinese culture through watching, listening, tasting, and hands-on participation.

At the opening ceremony, the Shaolin Martial Arts Sports Club from northern Athens kicked off with lion dance and martial arts performances, whose energy and vigor quickly warmed up the crowd. An erhu performer from the Chinese School of Athens then played classic Greek pieces, blending Chinese traditional instruments with familiar Greek melodies and using music as a bridge across cultures and languages.

Displayed crafts such as paper fans and Chinese knots created an immersive space steeped in Chinese culture. Hands-on activities including calligraphy, paper-cutting, rubbing, and paper folding gave Greek visitors an up-close encounter with traditional Chinese culture through simple, enjoyable interactions. The food team introduced Chinese specialties such as baozi, dumplings, egg tarts, and flower pastries, letting local visitors experience China through taste.

For those inspired to travel to China, the tourism promotion area nearby presented visa-free entry and other entry facilitation policies, along with travel routes and featured attractions, helping local residents plan their trips and making "China Travel" more convenient.
