Recent snowfall has turned parts of northern China into scenic winter landscapes, attracting many visitors. In Dunhuang City, Gansu Province, the Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring Scenic Area received its first snow of the season on Sunday, covering famous tourist sites in a white blanket. The snow contrasted with the golden sand dunes, yellow reeds, and the spring, creating a unique desert scene. “It’s rare to see such a snowy landscape in the desert,” said Zheng Bowen, a tourist from Jiangsu Province.
The snowfall also added a quiet charm to the ancient Yangguan and Yumen Passes, enhancing their historical appeal. Further northwest in Xinjiang, early winter snow has coated the Kunlun Mountains, where snow-covered peaks and ridges glisten in serene tranquillity, offering a peaceful and refreshing natural sight for travellers and nature enthusiasts alike.
