Hefei, the capital of eastern China’s Anhui Province, is welcoming a growing wave of visitors as the Spring Festival approaches, with the city wrapped in a lively holiday atmosphere.

A major draw is a newly opened theme park featuring artificial snowscapes inspired by the famed “Snow Town” in Mudanjiang, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province. The wintry setting, combined with lantern displays and folk performances, offers visitors an immersive festive experience while highlighting local intangible cultural heritage.

Adding to the excitement, Hefei has been selected as one of the four sub-venues for the 2026 Spring Festival Gala, alongside Harbin, Yiwu and Yibin. Together with the main venue in Beijing, the cities will present a rich and diverse cultural showcase to audiences nationwide as the Spring Festival ushers in the Year of the Horse.
