On the Tibetan Plateau lies Chayang Tso Lake, known as the “Blue Ice Shield”.
In Tibetan, its name means “the lake that brings wealth and prosperity”, its waters remaining crystal clear and deep blue all year round.
Located in Shannan City, Nagarzê County in southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, the lake sits at 4,900 metres above sea level.
Surrounded by towering peaks and cascading waterfalls, melted glacial water shapes this pristine landscape.
