Over 30 couples donned traditional Hanfu attire for a spectacular collective wedding on Friday in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, celebrating China’s rich cultural heritage. Styled after the Tang Dynasty, couples wore period makeup, carried traditional fans, and performed authentic wedding rites, immersing themselves in centuries-old customs.

The event drew international couples from Russia, Thailand, and Pakistan, all eager to experience China’s unique traditions. A Russian groom said, “The music was so festive and left me with a very deep impression,” while a Thai groom added, “It’s very rare that we get an opportunity to wear these kind of clothes here.”

Organised as a creative fusion of cultural tourism and wedding ceremonies, the event also included a two-day tour of Xi’an, one of China’s ancient capitals, giving newlyweds a hands-on glimpse of history from the Western Han to Tang dynasties.
