The annual Enshi Tujia Daughter Festival was held from July to August in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, central China's Hubei Province.

Dating back to the late 17th century, the 400-year-old festival is widely known as the "Oriental Valentine's Day"—a historic gathering where young Tujia people traditionally sought their own marriage partners. It was inscribed on Hubei Province's intangible cultural heritage list in 2009.

Centered on a traditional Tujia wedding story, the festival recreates the full wedding process, from matchmaking to the formal ceremony, including the distinctive "crying marriage" custom. Interactive activities such as antiphonal folk singing, cultural quizzes, and fireside singing sessions were also featured. Performers in traditional costumes roamed the venue throughout the event, creating an immersive festive atmosphere.

One visitor from Ningxia said that wearing traditional ethnic attire and joining the wedding procession made her feel like an active participant in the celebration, rather than merely an onlooker.
