The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of the 20th anniversary of its "Historic Centre of Macao" being inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From July to December, over 50 exciting sessions—including urban park pop-ups, photo hotspots, night tours, and literary trails—will bring Macao’s heritage sites to life. Families can enjoy special summer activities, such as the "World Heritage Doctor" internship, exploration tours, and storytelling sessions for kids.
The festivities peak on July 15, the inscription’s historic date, with an opening ceremony at the Dom Pedro V Theatre, inviting residents and visitors to experience the charm of Macao’s cultural legacy.
Recognized in 2005, the "Historic Centre of Macao" seamlessly blends 20+ monuments and urban squares into the city’s fabric, showcasing its unique East-meets-West heritage.
