A delegation of 60 ambassadors and diplomats from 37 countries visited Guangdong on Monday to gain firsthand insight into the province’s role as a driver of China’s reform, opening-up and technological innovation.

In Guangzhou, the envoys toured a leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, where they observed intelligent production processes and explored emerging technologies, including electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The delegation also visited Haixinsha Technology Island (Future Island), home to China’s first all-space intelligent system exhibition platform, which showcases advances in fields such as the low-altitude economy and embodied intelligence.

The visit highlighted Guangdong’s strong innovation ecosystem and advanced industrial base. The province has long ranked among China’s leaders in the production of communication equipment, drones and industrial robots. Over the coming days, the delegation will continue visiting sites across Guangdong as the province deepens international cooperation and works with Hong Kong and Macau to build a world-class bay area and globally competitive city cluster.
