[Global Connect] Robots and Opera Inspire Azerbaijani Students

A China Xinjiang–Azerbaijan youth exchange event was recently held at the Xinjiang Science and Technology Museum. Ten university teachers and students from Azerbaijan and eleven from Xinjiang University held face-to-face exchanges on science, technology and culture. Students from both countries immersed themselves in robot and Sichuan Opera face-changing performances.

The Azerbaijani students said they had long followed China's development in artificial intelligence and embodied intelligent robots. Seeing robots accurately replicate martial arts moves and dance movements firsthand, they described it as a vivid example of traditional Chinese culture combined with modern technology. They deeply felt China's advanced level in embodied intelligence, and marveled at how close cutting-edge technology is to everyday life.

The Azerbaijani youth delegation then visited public cultural venues, distinctive traditional Chinese medicine institutions and cultural tourism ecological parks to gain a comprehensive understanding of China's current situation and development direction. Since Nakhchivan and Urumqi signed a letter of intent to establish friendly-city relations in April 2025, exchanges between the two cities have grown increasingly frequent. Young students from both places have forged deep friendships through study and exchange, further strengthening and tightening China–Azerbaijan relations.
