China's automotive industry is entering a new phase of global expansion, driven by strengths in new energy vehicles and intelligent driving technologies. Rather than focusing solely on exports, automakers are increasingly adopting an ecosystem-based approach by expanding supply chains, enhancing overseas parts warehouses and strengthening after-sales service networks.

Since 2023, China's new energy vehicle exports have recorded an average annual compound growth rate of about 50 percent, with vehicles now reaching more than 100 countries and regions, reflecting a broader and more diversified global presence.

The industry maintained steady performance in the first half of 2026, with greater emphasis expected on international growth in the months ahead. Automakers are encouraged to compete through innovation, advanced technologies and higher-quality services instead of price competition. Continued investment in areas such as artificial intelligence large models and solid-state batteries is also expected to strengthen competitiveness while supporting sustainable long-term growth in global markets.
