The Asia-Pacific Youth Dialogue was recently held in Shenzhen. As an exchange event held alongside APEC's China year, the dialogue brought together nearly 100 youth representatives, experts and scholars from multiple APEC economies. Discussions centered on artificial intelligence, regional cooperation and digital governance, with young participants putting forward a wealth of creative and constructive ideas that reflect the enthusiasm and sense of responsibility of Asia-Pacific youth in building a shared future.
The event received 202 valid proposals from young people across 21 countries and regions, pooling diverse youth insights. More than 20 proposal authors later visited leading Shenzhen companies in cultural technology, smart manufacturing and robotics R&D, as well as urban parks and landmarks, to see firsthand the achievements of China's reform and opening up and modernization.
Li Yafang, president of the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, noted that amid a turbulent and intertwined international landscape, Asia-Pacific parties need all the more to strengthen communication, enhance understanding and build consensus. She hoped that young people across the Asia-Pacific would become promoters of mutual learning among civilizations, explorers of innovative development and practitioners of building an Asia-Pacific community.
