[Green Highlights] Kadoorie Farm Opens Wildlife Rescue Centre to Public
: :

For the first time in three decades, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) will open the doors of its Wild Animal Rescue Centre to the public on November 29 and 30 – offering a rare glimpse into Hong Kong’s only licensed, privately-run wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility.

Established in 1994, the centre treats around 4,000 injured or displaced animals every year, from bats and owls to snakes and lizards. Many are referred by the SPCA or rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking. About 80% of them are successfully released back into the wild.

Visitors can join guided workshops to see how veterinarians and wildlife specialists care for animals up close, including fledgling birds often brought in during spring and summer. Registration is available on KFBG’s website, with limited spots offered on a first-come, first-served basis – a unique opportunity to witness Hong Kong’s wildlife heroes in action.
