China has maintained its position as the world's largest wind power market for the 16th consecutive year, with installed capacity continuing to grow and domestic manufacturers expanding their global reach.
The country's installed wind power capacity rose by 53.26 gigawatts in the first eight months of the year to 692.72 gigawatts, up nearly 20 percent from last year, according to the China Wind Energy Association.
China's wind turbine exports are also gaining momentum. In 2025, the country exported 1,175 turbines with a combined capacity of 7.75 gigawatts, nearly 50 percent more than a year earlier. Cumulative exports reached 6,974 units, with a total capacity of 28.52 gigawatts.
Chinese wind turbines are now sold in 60 countries across six continents, while seven domestic manufacturers have established overseas factories or are developing plans to do so.
China also accounted for more than 70 percent of global wind energy equipment manufacturing in 2025, reinforcing its role in supporting the industry's worldwide growth.
