Immersive technologies took centre stage at a major VR and AR exhibition in Guangzhou, where visitors explored cutting-edge gaming experiences and next-generation smart devices from around the world. Held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, the three-day World VR/AR/XR/MR Industry and Smart Glasses Exhibition showcased a wide range of innovations, from hyper-realistic VR skydiving simulators to multi-player virtual reality arenas supporting users across dozens of countries and languages.

Among the highlights was a dome-screen theatre offering glasses-free 3D visuals enhanced by 8K imagery, motion effects and environmental simulations such as wind, rain and snow. Exhibitors reported strong international interest, with some companies securing overseas orders during the event.

China’s VR sector continues to expand rapidly, now home to more than 35,000 related companies. The country’s VR industry is projected to surpass 350 billion yuan (about 50 billion U.S. dollars) by 2026.
