Humanoid robots are moving beyond logistics hubs and onto factory floors across China, supporting the country’s push towards smarter and more efficient manufacturing.
At a logistics centre in Guangzhou, south China’s Guangdong Province, humanoid robots are handling parcel identification, grabbing, flipping, placing and sorting, with each unit currently processing up to 1,200 parcels per hour. Their capacity is expected to reach 1,400 parcels per hour in the fourth quarter and 1,600 in the first quarter of next year, while applications in loading, unloading and warehouse allocation are also being explored.
The technology is also advancing in manufacturing. At an automobile factory in Beijing’s E-Town area, humanoid robots are practising tasks including parts handling, flexible cover placement and box folding.
At a single workstation, the robots can achieve a success rate of 98 percent in fine operations, highlighting their growing potential in industrial production.
