Chinese-made LED display technology is taking centre stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with advanced screens from Shenzhen lighting up multiple stadiums across the tournament.
The large LED perimeter screens, built with densely packed lamp beads and measuring just 10 centimetres thick, combine durability with player safety. Designed to withstand powerful ball impacts while remaining flexible enough to reduce the risk of injury during collisions, the displays exceed FIFA's structural requirements through advanced mechanical and materials engineering.
Chinese companies have also delivered large funnel-shaped screens suspended above Vancouver's stadium, overcoming complex engineering challenges through lightweight designs and close coordination between research, manufacturing and overseas installation teams.
Building on more than a decade of World Cup experience, Chinese suppliers are now providing integrated sound, lighting and display solutions, marking a shift from hardware manufacturing to comprehensive smart stadium systems and showcasing the growing global competitiveness of China's LED industry.
