An ice-and-snow theme park in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province, has opened to the public, welcoming more than 21,000 visitor trips on its first day. The Changchun Ice and Snow New World, one of the country’s largest winter theme parks, spans 1.56 million square metres and is designed to cater to visitors of all ages.
This season, the park has introduced three immersive attractions. Its 760,000-square-metre main amusement area features a 1,314-metre snow rafting course, a 520-metre ice slide and more than 30 activities, including ice karting and sledding.
Visitors praised both the scenery and the experience. One tourist from Guangdong described the ice sculptures as “beautiful and breathtaking”, while another said the rides were “thrilling… just fun”.
To enhance comfort, the park has upgraded 18 heated service stations and moved queuing areas for popular attractions indoors, allowing visitors to stay warm while they wait.
