Outdoor sports fever swept through the Yangtze River Delta recently, as yoga, swimming, and cycling events brought together thousands of enthusiasts amid the region’s scenic rivers, lakes, and coastlines. Several participants shared their experiences with a Chinese news outlet, highlighting the vibrant atmosphere and the region’s growing passion for outdoor living.In Zhejiang Province, an open-air yoga championship set in a lush park offered participants a serene escape. “I’m very happy to be here… it’s a very beautiful place, a place for the weekend,” said a participant from France.Meanwhile, in Jiangsu’s Huai’an City, nearly 1,000 swimmers plunged into the third Hongze Lake Swimming Competition. “The event can fire up our enthusiasm for sports, and also bring visitors from all over the country,” said one swimmer.Further south, nearly 200 cyclists from 22 professional teams took on the 435-kilometre “Tour of Taihu Lake”, pedalling along coastal routes where the Yangtze meets the sea. “This is my first time racing… I guess the scenery will be beautiful when riding by the sea,” said a rider.Source: China Central Television
