[China Thrills] Pampered Pets: The Latest Spring Festival Trend
: :

As the Spring Festival approaches, it’s not just humans who need new outfits—pets are getting makeovers too! Demand for pet grooming services is booming across the country.

At a pet salon in Xiamen, a groomer is busy giving a Corgi the full spa treatment: a bath, styling, and a fresh trim. A few pet parents are already lined up, waiting their turn. The shop owner says bookings are completely packed these days—they’re seeing more than twenty furry clients daily. Most owners want special festive hairdos for their pets: small dogs often rock cute, round styles, while bigger dogs go for sleek and smart looks.

Beyond the usual bath-and-groom routine, pet salons have rolled out all sorts of trendy new services. Many have set up adorable Spring Festival–themed photo zones decked out with red lanterns, couplets, and prop gold ingots—perfect for pet “New Year portraits” that owners are flocking to book. Some shops even offer special “Lunar New Year’s Eve feasts” for pets. It’s a pawsome way for pets to celebrate the Chinese New Year right alongside their humans.
