Recently, over ten mu (about 6,666 square meters) of wildflower mixes at Guiyang Huaxi National Urban Wetland Park burst into bloom. More than ten varieties unfurl in a wash of color, and when the breeze passes, the flowers sway while bees and butterflies dance—together composing a scene that feels straight out of a storybook.
To brighten the autumn landscape and enhance overall quality, the park sowed wildflower mixes in the southern area. With a carefully designed layout of staggered heights and overlapping bloom times, the display is intended to offer continuous viewing from late August through mid-November.
The park also turns landscaping waste into organic matter by shredding and fermenting it for soil improvement. This approach has reduced chemical fertilizer use and increased humus application by 2.8 percent, helping to ease soil compaction.
As a typical karst river wetland on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, Huaxi’s core scenic area covers 864,600 square meters and includes more than 20 attractions.
