Perched along the cliffs of Maiji Mountain in Gansu, the Maijishan Grottoes form a striking “Buddhist realm in the sky”.

With over 1,600 years of history, it stands among China’s Four Great Grottoes.

Renowned for its clay sculptures, Maijishan is hailed as the “Oriental Sculpture Gallery” and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

More than 200 caves and thousands of statues remain, accessed by suspended walkways offering breathtaking views.
