Guangzhou, known as the “Flower City,” has just welcomed a stunning surprise. Due to the sunny and hot weather, over 3,000 maple trees on Maofeng Mountain have turned red—two weeks earlier than usual.
Unlike northern maples that only blush in autumn, the red maples on Maofeng Mountain offer a unique “off-season romance” in Lingnan. They display their vibrant colors across three seasons, from spring to autumn, each lasting nearly a month. Strolling through the garden, visitors are greeted by a sea of maples at different heights—bright red, rose, and light red layers interwoven with fresh green leaves, creating a poetic scene of “half green hills, half crimson glow.”
Many travelers have come from afar to witness this extraordinary sight. Some even dress in traditional Hanfu to take photos, capturing the grace and elegance of a classical Chinese painting. Does this enchanting scenery appeal to you?
