[Cultural China] Wind Chime Festival Brings Ancient Temple Charm to Yangzhou
: :

The 2026 Daming Temple Wind Chime Festival has opened at the thousand-year-old Daming Temple in Yangzhou, eastern China. Amid the lush greenery of the ancient temple grounds, elegant Chinese-style performances featuring classical dance and traditional instrumental music have been staged, offering visitors an immersive audiovisual experience that blends timeless historical charm with modern aesthetics.

The venue exudes a serene and refined atmosphere while attracting large numbers of visitors. Strings of wind chimes complement the temple's signature yellow walls and dark-tiled roofs, creating a distinctive summer scene. As gentle breezes set the chimes ringing softly, the stately architecture and crisp, melodic tones combine to create a unique sensory experience. The site has become one of Yangzhou's most popular Chinese-style photography spots this summer.

Running through July 26, the festival breathes new life into the temple's cultural heritage while promoting traditional Chinese aesthetics through youth-oriented, immersive, and experience-driven activities. It aims to foster deeper integration between traditional Zen culture and modern cultural tourism.
