[Cultural China] Young Craftsmen Breathe New Life into Traditional Folk Arts
: :

What fresh vitality can century-old traditional crafts gain from young creators? A forged metal artwork of curving branches paired with miniature Taihu stones offers a vivid answer, shaping rigid metal textures into the gentle charm of Jiangnan landscapes and capturing the freehand beauty of Chinese gold and silver craftsmanship.

The National Exhibition of Outstanding Young Folk Arts and Crafts Artists has opened at the Jiangsu Modern Art Museum in Nanjing. Twenty young craftsmen from Jiangsu and across the country showcase around 200 works covering over 10 categories, including paper-cutting, purple clay ware, dough sculpture, embroidery, jade carving and pit carving.

The exhibition highlights the youthful dynamism of traditional crafts, giving visitors an up-close feel for the warmth and innovative appeal of age-old handiwork.
