Shenzhen is set for another standout year on the international tennis calendar, with the city confirmed to host both the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and the returning World Tennis Continental Cup later this year.

The Billie Jean King Cup Finals will take place at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, known as the “Spring Cocoon”, from 22 to 27 September. It marks the second consecutive year the prestigious women’s team tournament will be staged in the city, further strengthening Shenzhen’s reputation as a leading destination for global sport.

Eight nations will compete in the 63rd edition of the tournament, often described as the World Cup of women’s tennis. Host nation China will be joined by Great Britain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Spain, Ukraine, Belgium and either Switzerland or Czechia. Defending champions Italy return after securing a 2-0 victory over the United States in last year’s final.

Shenzhen will also welcome back the World Tennis Continental Cup from 25 to 27 December, featuring top international stars in mixed-gender singles and doubles competition.
