Jiangmen in southern China's Guangdong Province, widely known as one of China's foremost hometowns of overseas Chinese, has built a thriving coffee industry with an annual output value exceeding 3 billion yuan—even though it grows no coffee beans locally. From green coffee bean trading to intelligent roasting and precision manufacturing, the city has developed a complete coffee industry chain from the ground up.

Today, Jiangmen is home to more than 350 enterprises producing coffee equipment and components. It supplies around 40 percent of China's stainless steel coffee ware, and one in every five coffee machines exported from China is manufactured in Jiangmen.

The city's coffee heritage is deeply rooted in its extensive overseas Chinese network. Leveraging its longstanding global connections, Jiangmen imports more than 300 varieties of premium green coffee beans from leading coffee-producing countries, including Brazil, Ethiopia, and Colombia, with annual imports valued at over 30 million yuan. As one of mainland China's earliest coffee-roasting hubs, the city is home to 21 certified roasting enterprises with a combined annual processing capacity of more than 10,000 tonnes, accounting for 20 percent of the country's roasted coffee exports.
