The 2025 Southern China Book Fair concluded at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou, achieving historic highs in scale, participation, and global impact. The event featured significant international engagement, with Vietnam as the Guest Country of Honor—showcasing a special exhibition celebrating 75 years of bilateral ties. Leading global publishers, including Penguin Random House, Macmillan, and Bloomsbury, presented approximately 20,000 foreign-language titles. A total of 102 China-foreign copyright agreements were signed, with more than 30 key works slated for overseas distribution.
The main venue spanned roughly 40,000 sq m across four themed halls, while 467 sub-venues throughout Guangdong’s 21 cities helped push the total exhibition area beyond one million square meters. More than 1,500 domestic and international publishers exhibited nearly 500,000 publications and cultural products. Organizers hosted 2,335 events, attracting over 55 million online and offline visits. A total of 2.75 million people attended venues across the province, with the main site offering book discounts starting at 40% and reader-benefit activities reaching over two million attendees.
