A dazzling celebration of sound unfolded at Hong Kong City Hall Theatre on September 6, 2025, when the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) partnered with Poland’s National Forum of Music for an extraordinary concert.

Inspired by HKCO’s acclaimed appearance at the inaugural Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo in 2024, the collaboration brought together the HKCO String Quintet, Eco-Gehu and Eco-Bass Gehu Ensembles with the renowned Polish Cello Quartet. Audiences experienced a program that blended timeless masterpieces with bold new works, including premieres by Hong Kong’s Ng Cheuk-yin and Poland’s Tomasz Skweres. The soulful resonance of Western cellos intertwined beautifully with the expressive voices of the erhu, pipa, and zheng.

The performance, recorded by Radio Television Hong Kong and broadcast across Europe, captivated audiences well beyond the city, while also paving the way for the next chapter – a July 2026 tour in Poland by the HKCO ensembles.
