The 140th Canton Fair kicked off in Guangzhou today (October 15). Embracing innovation, green growth and intelligent upgrading, it draws global buyers across markets. Among its 32,000 exhibitors, over 11,000 are high-quality specialized, sophisticated, innovative enterprises and industry-leading champions.  

New products account for 23.2% of the total exhibit, while green products make up 26%, both representing all-time highs. The fair will hold over 700 new product debuts, with product releases rising 15% compared to last year.

The first phase focuses on Advanced Manufacturing, showcasing breakthroughs in five key sectors, including consumer electronics, home appliances and industrial automation. It centers on fast-growing procurement areas such as new energy, smart manufacturing and embodied intelligence, with 17 themed zones for future-oriented industries ranging from service robots and drones to advanced display technologies.  

This year also marks the Canton Fair’s 70th anniversary. From its inaugural 9,600-square-meter edition with 1,200 buyers, the event has expanded dramatically to today’s 1.55-million-square-meter exhibition attracting 310,000 global purchasers. Running uninterrupted across 140 sessions, it remains China’s most influential international trade event in terms of history length, product diversity, buyer scale and transaction performance, widely recognized globally as “China’s No.1 Exhibition.”
