A media delegation from eight APEC economies, including the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Chile, recently toured the cold chain corridor and East Artificial Island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, witnessing firsthand the megastructure’s innovative integration of cross-border logistics and cultural tourism.
At the bridge port, the journalists explored the cold chain passage and learned about streamlined customs clearance and air–ground intermodal transfer for cross-border fresh produce. They were deeply impressed by the bridge’s role in powering the Greater Bay Area’s “one-hour living circle” and enhancing its economic and trade connectivity. Later, on the East Artificial Island, they took in panoramic views of Lingding Ocean and Lantau Island while gaining insights into the bridge’s engineering achievements, operational management, and cross-border access systems.
Many journalists noted that although they had read about the bridge online, being on-site was an entirely different experience—its grandeur and cutting-edge technology left them in awe. They hoped to convey that sense of awe to audiences back home and expressed interest in more exchange and visit opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
