On 29 May, the historical Sanxingdui site in Sichuan marked a new phase in cultural exchange through a formal partnership between Sanxingdui and French crystal house Lalique.
The collaboration builds on a growing dialogue that began in 2024, when Lalique’s design team visited Sanxingdui and drew inspiration from its distinctive bronze artefacts, including monumental figures, sacred trees, and expressive masks that reflect the richness of the ancient Shu civilisation over 3,000 years ago.
The partnership will focus on jointly developing themed artworks, exhibitions, and wider cultural exchange initiatives. By reinterpreting ancient motifs through contemporary crystal design, both sides aim to bring Sanxingdui’s artistic legacy to a broader international audience through a modern creative lens.
