The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy hospital ship Auspicious Ark arrived in Conakry, Guinea, on Saturday, October 3, for a seven-day goodwill visit, bringing medical services and healthcare exchanges to the West African country.

The visit, part of Mission Harmony-2026, marks the first time a Chinese naval hospital ship has visited Guinea. During its stay, the ship will provide medical services, while its medical training and outreach teams will visit the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital and a military camp to offer consultations and treatment and conduct academic exchanges.

The mission will also promote closer cooperation between the two countries' medical and military communities, with the mission commander set to hold talks with Guinean military leaders.

Beyond healthcare, the visit will feature cultural exchanges, including a reception aboard the ship and a visit by mission personnel to the Confucius Institute at the University of Conakry.

The mission highlights the hospital ship's role in providing humanitarian medical services while strengthening friendship and cooperation between China and Guinea.
