Guangzhou will host the 2026 ASEAN-China (Guangdong) Trade Promotion and Supply Chain Cooperation Mechanism Exchange Conference from Wednesday to Thursday, bringing together more than 1,000 government officials, academics and industry leaders to strengthen economic and industrial cooperation between Guangdong and ASEAN.

Co-organised for the first time by the ASEAN-China Centre, the conference will focus on artificial intelligence-driven industrial upgrading, supply chain coordination and collaboration in the new energy sector.

The event will also highlight the complementary strengths of both sides. Guangdong offers advanced manufacturing capabilities and well-established supply chains in industries including photovoltaics, wind power, energy storage, hydrogen energy and new energy vehicles. Meanwhile, ASEAN provides key resources such as bauxite and nickel ore while serving as a growing market for Guangdong’s energy storage systems, electric two-wheelers and photovoltaic technologies, reinforcing deeper regional integration and long-term cooperation.
