China’s green fuel production capacity reached about 8 million metric tonnes of oil equivalent annually by the end of 2025, highlighting the country’s growing momentum in developing low-carbon energy alternatives.
According to a report released by the National Energy Administration, green fuels include green methanol, green synthetic ammonia, sustainable aviation fuel, biofuel ethanol, biodiesel and bio-natural gas. These fuels are produced to meet environmental protection requirements across their life cycles.
Their use is also expanding across a range of sectors, including shipping, aviation, road transport and industry, creating new opportunities to support cleaner energy consumption and accelerate the transition towards a lower-carbon economy.
