Hong Kong residents can look forward to a range of free activities and special offers on 1 July as the city marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Celebrations will take place across all 18 districts, featuring community carnivals, performances, sports events and drill displays by disciplined forces.

A series of transport incentives will be available, including 71,000 free MTR single-journey tickets, complimentary tram rides for three days and selected free ferry services. Children, students and older passengers will also enjoy concessions on the Airport Express.

Several cultural attractions will open free of charge, including regular exhibitions at the Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Selected leisure facilities and the Hong Kong Wetland Park will also waive admission fees.

More than 1,000 restaurants and around 100 shopping malls will offer discounts, while visitors to GREEN@COMMUNITY recycling points can earn double reward points.
