In Beijing, a Chinese New Year technology temple fair opened at its main venue, staging a blend of traditional festival rituals and cutting-edge machines. Robots performed precise traditional dances, with some taking on the role of lion dancers that bounded and leapt to herald the Year of the Horse. A robot band also performed with millimetre-level timing alongside a local light-music ensemble, creating an audible human–machine duet.
The exhibition featured 43 embodied robot displays and 34 humanoid robot showcases. Attendees could also experience frontier technologies such as large AI models, digital humans, virtual reality, and AIGC demonstrations, creating a three-part mix of cultural tradition, technological interaction, and imagined future living.
Visitors said the fair felt both festive and futuristic, combining the New Year atmosphere with clear technological flair and offering a fresh, modern take on the seasonal temple fair tradition.
