[Tech Trends] Domestic Chip Breakthrough Fuels China’s New Energy Vehicle Sector
: :

Chinese new energy vehicles have achieved a major milestone in homegrown chip technology. New vehicle models developed by GAC Group, an automotive manufacturer in Guangzhou, southern China, will adopt 100 percent domestically produced chips. This breakthrough enables full independent control across core systems, from computing to sensing.

The new vehicle architecture consists of three key modules: a full-domain integrated computing hub, a high-speed neural network, and a plastic neuron system. Powered by top-tier 3nm flagship chips, the system boosts the vehicle’s overall intelligent performance by 40%. It also achieves, for the first time, integrated control across six major vehicle domains: intelligent driving, smart cockpit, power system, chassis, body, and intelligent connectivity.

The company plans to share its chip technologies across the industry. These innovations will bolster rail transit, the low-altitude economy, embodied intelligence, and other sectors, while driving coordinated development across the industrial chain through large-scale application.
