China has emerged as a leading force in the global humanoid robotics industry, accounting for an estimated 90 percent of worldwide shipments in 2025, according to a recent Morgan Stanley report.

The report found that Chinese companies occupied the top six positions globally by shipment volume, led by Zhiyuan, Unitree and UBTECH. Growth has been supported by a strong domestic supply chain, early commercial deployments and expanding investment.

Many of the technologies used in humanoid robots, including sensors, motors and battery systems, benefit from capabilities developed through China's new energy vehicle industry, helping manufacturers reduce costs and accelerate production.

Morgan Stanley also noted that Chinese firms make up more than half of the key companies identified across the global humanoid robotics value chain. Meanwhile, investment in the sector continues to rise, with China attracting nearly half of global funding in early 2026.

The report suggests that China is increasingly translating manufacturing strengths into large-scale humanoid robot deployment and commercialisation.
