An innovative foundation pit enclosure membrane featuring multiple advanced technologies has recently been put into use on an urban construction project. A campus expansion in an old district of Guangzhou—the first project to adopt this new membrane—has become a showcase for the construction industry.

This expansion is a typical urban renewal project involving demolition, reconstruction, and new construction. Located close to schools, residential communities, and a zoo, the site has strict dust and noise control requirements, highlighting the need for the new membrane technology.

According to engineers, the innovative membrane offers two major breakthroughs. First, it enables intelligent control of constant temperature and humidity within the construction zone, addressing the problems of temperature-humidity imbalance and summer heat buildup in conventional membranes. Second, it integrates high-efficiency noise reduction and intelligent water-curtain dust suppression, achieving 99% dust containment and 90% noise reduction. Workers also report that the membrane interior has low dust levels, good air circulation, and provides shade and rain protection, offering a much better working environment than traditional outdoor operations.
